New Faculty Orientation

Welcome to George Mason University!

Every August the Office of the Provost hosts Mason’s New Faculty Orientation, in partnership with the Stearns Center for Teaching and Learning and Human Resources and Payroll. In order to ensure your smooth transition to the Mason community, all new full time faculty members are expected to participate in this this two-day program. The program will acquaint you with the university, afford you the opportunity to meet colleagues, and offer you critical information and interactive sessions about your roles as scholars, teachers, and mentors.

The 2017 New Faculty Orientation will be held on Monday, August 21, through Tuesday, August 22.

For returning Mason faculty, please join us for our Faculty Refresh Workshops on Tuesday afternoon, August 22. These interactive sessions have been designed to refresh your teaching, research, and writing. All sessions are open to members of the Mason educational community. Come with a friend or arrive ready to meet new colleagues with similar interests! Of note, please bring your laptop or mobile device, as some sessions have been designed to be hands on. Registration is not required.

Join us after our Faculty Refresh Workshops for our Mason Faculty Social Hour at the Mason Club from 5-6:30 pm. Catch up with colleagues and meet the newest members of our Mason faculty community!

If you are a new adjunct faculty member, please contact your department regarding the New Adjunct Faculty Orientation that will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017.
