To establish an entirely new position, the faculty appointment process is initiated by submitting a position maintenance form to the Office of Budget and Planning to establish a position number.
Next, to initiate a new appointment on an existing or new position number, work with Human Resources to search for a candidate through the recruitment tool, eWork. (Adjunct faculty, affiliate faculty, and emeritus faculty appointments are exceptions to this process.)
The following procedures are used only after a search has been conducted and the candidate has been selected.
