Institutional Research & Reporting

The Office of Institutional Research & Reporting (IRR) maintains and provides official data about George Mason University’s student enrollment and degrees, faculty, academic programs, facilities and other areas.  This information is used to ensure consistent and coherent measurements of the university’s effectiveness and success.

IRR is also responsible for disseminating data both to internal and external constituents, including accreditors, state and local government, and national higher education data projects.  Some key publications include: the Factbooks, which compiles and organizes most of the frequently used data for the university; Academic Unit Profiles, which provide a picture of each of the college-level academic units; Common Data Set reports; Institutional Performance Standards reports; and course evaluation surveys and reports.
