Ready, Set, Review!

Ready, Set, Review!

George Mason University invested in Interfolio's Review, Promotion & Tenure (RPT) content management system to facilitate the renewal, promotion and tenure of tenure-line faculty, the new appointment and promotion of term faculty, as well as, the renewal and promotion of University Librarians. Candidates will continue to be evaluated in light of the missions of the University, which are teaching; research and scholarship, both theoretical and applied; and service (as defined in the Faculty Handbook).

Effective 2021/2022, RPT was approved for expanded use and is now inclusive of Term faculty promotion and multi-year appointment materials, third-year renewal materials for Tenure-line faculty, as well as, renewal and promotion materials for University Librarian professional review, as applicable.

Effective 2020/2021, tenure-line faculty candidates began submitting required promotion and/or tenure materials via RPT. Although the method for submitting these materials changed, all promotion and/or tenure requirements remained the same.

    Dossier Webinars

Dossier is an optional platform, within RPT, that can assist faculty in preparing for every phase of their academic career. Interfolio's Dossier offers tools to help scholars prepare for academic opportunities using cloud-based storage:

    • Annual evaluation
    • Renewal, promotion and/ or tenure
    • Grant submission
    • Etc.

All the documents collected and added to Dossier remain there for future use. Newly hired faculty can use Dossier, upon hire and faculty will retain access to Dossier even after the end of their time with the institution.

    End-User Trainings

Trainings prepare RPT end-users to create, complete, route, and review casebooks through the full reappointment, renewal, promotion, and tenure review life cycle. Participants will have the opportunity to provide feedback about user experience, training delivery and format, and template design. Based on participants' feedback we can proceed to fix any system malfunctions and improve the user experience.
