Mason Graduate Interdisciplinary Conference

Mason Graduate Interdisciplinary Conference

Saturday, April 6, 2019
George Mason University, Arlington Campus

Hosted by the Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President, University Life, Graduate Student Life, and the Graduate and Professional Student Association

The  Mason Graduate Interdisciplinary Conference is a one-day event highlighting the outstanding research of our graduate student community. The conference opens avenues of discussion across disciplines and facilitates students' entry into scholarly research. Students from all disciplines at George Mason University are welcome to participate, as many perspectives enhance the potential impact of research outcomes. Students exhibit their research papers, posters and presentations in an environment that closely mirrors professional scholarly practice.

In addition to the poster sessions and presentations, the conference feature's the Mason Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) competition. The 3MT® was developed by the University of Queensland, Australia, to provide Ph.D. students the opportunity to cultivate their academic, presentation, and research communication skills. Students participating in this event will have a three-minute period to effectively explain their research in terms approachable by a general audience. Cash prizes will be awarded for First, Second, and Third place winners.
