In addition, some units, such as the School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution, the Kellar Institute for Human disAbilities, and the Smithsonian-Mason School of Conservation, maintain curated internal libraries on specialized subjects.

Mason scholars and community members can find, borrow and reserve material from research collections at the Mason Libraries and from other universities, via Interlibrary Loan (ILL) and the Washington Research Library Consortium (WRLC). Hundreds of research databases - including scholarly journals, streaming media, e-books, data, and more - are available online 24/7. Specialized services such as research guides, subject librarians, and instructional services offer customized solutions to student and faculty needs.
