Join Mason's Term Faculty Committee: Nominations Due March 12

Body

The Term Faculty Committee is accepting nominations for two openings beginning in fall 2024.

It is important that committee membership is representative of schools and colleges across Mason, in addition to other forms of faculty representation. Given the committee's current composition, there is particular interest in candidates from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Public Health, and the Schar School for Policy and Government. The committee is looking to appoint at least one term faculty member and another faculty member of any appointment type with interest in term faculty issues. Members appointed to the committee may serve up to two 2-year terms.

Nomination criteria include: 1) At least three years of experience working at Mason; 2) Articulated commitment to improving the work lives of term faculty; and 3) Expressed commitment to and experience with issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusive excellence.

Those wishing to be considered for membership on this important university committee should submit their nomination to facaffs@gmu.edu with the subject line “Term Faculty Committee Nomination.” Submissions should include a statement addressing the nomination criteria, academic unit affiliation(s), and a current CV. The deadline for nominations is 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12.
