Nominations for Term Faculty Committee due March 12

Body

The Term Faculty Committee is accepting nominations for two openings beginning in fall 2024.

It is important that the committee membership is representative of schools and colleges across Mason, in addition to other forms of faculty representation. Given the committee's current composition, nominees from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Public Health, and the Schar School for Policy and Government are highly encouraged. The committee is seeking at least one term faculty member and another faculty member of any appointment type with interest in term faculty issues. Committee members may serve up to two 2-year terms on this Committee.

Nomination criteria include: 1) At least three years of experience working at George Mason University; 2) Articulated commitment to improving the work lives of term faculty; and 3) Expressed commitment to and experience with issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusive excellence.

To be considered for membership, email facaffs@gmu.edu with the subject line “Term Faculty Committee Nomination.” Include a statement addressing the nomination criteria, your academic unit affiliation(s), and a copy of your current CV. Nominations are due by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12.
